Job Purpose:

The purpose of the Technical Assistant is to assist in providing administrative and technical support to the Technical department within the business

To ensure that SHP VAS service level is maintained at the highest level.

Main Responsibilities:

Ø To manage all technical documentation including specifications, certificates of analysis, factory paperwork, labelling, traceability, etc.;

Ø To log all customer complaints and help in the investigations;

Ø Administration of the Quality Management System

Ø Support internal departments in ensuring standards are clear, reviewed, measured and effectively implemented to meet internal and customer requirements;

Ø Support the Technical Manager during audits;

Ø General office admin duties e.g. filing, maintenance of technical equipment.

Ø To manage all technical supplier documentation including all due diligence, packing lists, certificates of analysis, traceability, etc.;

Ø To administrate the Safefood supplier portal to verify due diligence;

Ø Carry out GMP inspections / Internal audits

Ø Support the Technical Manager during staff training

Experience


•       Previous experience or training in food safety or food production environments is advantageous


•       Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations is highly desirable


•       Familiarity with food manufacturing processes and hygiene standards is preferred


•       Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately


•       Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced environment

Job Context/Environment:

  • Office, packhouse, cold-store and ripening room based and working in a team
  • Sunday to Thursday
  • Core working hours, however a degree of flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the business including peak periods, holiday coverage and sickness absence
  • Working to strict deadlines in a time critical environment
  • The job holder will be required to regularly work to tight deadlines that may require additional hours to be worked at times of pressure
