Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team to support the Registered Manager to manage our Family Assessment Center. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be committed to their role. This role involves supporting and guiding families, making observations of the families, completing risk assessments, liaising with local authorities, managing and supporting staff.
Job Hours:
8am - 4pm
However please note at times you will be expected to be flexible and work shifts if required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Center Manager in the day-to-day running of the family assessment center.
- Assist in the supervision, training, and development of family support workers.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and provide guidance and support to the team.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of care, support, and record-keeping.
- Liaise with Local Authorities, and other relevant professionals.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of center policies and procedures.
- Oversee the maintenance of a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained center environment.
- Promote diversity, equality, and anti-discriminatory practice within the center.
- Deputise for the Center Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth operation of the center.
- Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery and family outcomes
Key Skills and Experience:
- At least 3 years' experience in a residential family support setting, with at least 1 year in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to mentor, motivate, and develop staff.
- Resilience, empathy, and the ability to manage complex and challenging situations.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in record-keeping, report writing, and IT skills.
- Flexible approach to work, including the ability to work shifts and on-call duties.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
