Compliance & Operations Assistant – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

London | circa £40, ,000 + discretionary bonus + benefits (including pension and private health cover)

We're supporting a leading global financial advisory firm in their search for a Compliance & Operations Assistant to join their London office on a 12-month fixed term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their compliance career, ideally with around six months to three years' experience in a regulated financial services environment, to gain hands-on exposure across compliance and operational processes within a highly regarded, professional, and supportive team.

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer and working closely with the wider European Compliance team, the role offers excellent breadth and visibility across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting supplier onboarding and due diligence in line with GDPR, Modern Slavery, and AML requirements
  • Conducting conflict, sanctions, and PEP checks across European offices
  • Assisting with FCA-related activities, including maintaining SMCR certification records and preparing regulatory submissions
  • Supporting compliance monitoring, audit requests, and report preparation
  • Assisting with compliance training materials and coordinating firmwide training programmes
  • Managing background checks and regulatory reference requests for new joiners
  • Supporting the ongoing review and updating of compliance policies and trackers

About you:

  • Experience working within a financial services firm regulated by the FCA, ideally between six months and three years
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Lexis Nexis, TranspariNT, or similar systems would be beneficial
  • Proactive, discreet, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
