Carpet Roles UK, dedicated Recruitment Specialist to the UK Flooring Industry are delighted to be assisting our clients, a leading Flooring Distributor in their search for an Area Sales Representative to call on Carpet and Flooring Retailers (75% of the base) and Flooring Contractors (25%) in an area below Londons M25 Motorway centred on Sussex (ideally near the M23 Corridor in the Crawley area or similar) and touching parts of Surrey, Hampshire and Kent around the edges.

The Company are part of a Group of Flooring Distribution Specialists and Manufacturers with a nationwide network of Depots and an excellent and comprehensive product range backed with attractive Merchandising and Point of Sale Pricing.

The Role we are recruiting for in this instance is for a Retail Flooring Sales Specialist Representative who will be calling on Contractors and (mainly) Retailers with Soft Contract departments building relationships and growing the sales for our clients Product Ranges. The area is a warm one but has plenty of potential for the right person to build from the solid foundations they have to start from. Whilst not the main focus, the awareness of what is happening on the area and opening up of new client accounts is also required as part of the main duties of managing the well established existing client base..

The Area runs across from Kent in the East, is centred upon Sussex (East and West) and covers parts of Surrey and Hampshire to the West and will consist of a mix of predominantly Flooring Retailers and contractors.

Therefore we are seeking someone that knows both Contract / Commercial Flooring Products and the people who manage Projects within that market.

Perhaps you are an existing area sales representative looking for a new challenge, or you could be a successful Flooring Retailer seeking a role on the road, either way you will have:
  • An Excellent knowledge of Carpet and Flooring Products (our clients sell everything for the floor bar ceramics / tiles). 
  • The Drive and Enthusiasm and customer focussed approach to build relationships and sales.
  • You will be from a Direct Sales of Flooring Products or Projects background ideally.
  • Consideration would also be given to someone from a Project Manager or Estimator type background.
  • Excellent IT and Organisational skills are also key.
  • Our clients are ideally seeking someone based in the middle of the area along the M23 in say Crawley area as the bulk of their client base is currently there.
