Key Duties
- Work with Internal Communications and Digital Communications to take responsibility for delivering communications about the university's Cyber Programme, in support of the university's internal communications strategy and in accordance with its communications and engagement approach.
- Deliver high-quality, engaging, and effective communications and digital content. Proactively change and adapt delivery according to customer requirements.
- Work closely with internal communications colleagues to ensure that cyber programme communications link with business-as-usual communications and/or other major communications initiatives
- To monitor, evaluate and report on related communications activities to ensure continuous improvement to related communications, and the highest possible return on resource. Proactively change delivery according to quantitative and/or qualitative feedback from a variety of sources from formal surveys to social media.
- Provide professional advice and guidance on internal communications processes and procedures and digital content production to internal and external customers, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate, and ensuring complex and conceptual issues are understood.
- Collaborate with others in order to make recommendations for developments of established processes and procedures.
- Establish working relationships with key contacts, developing appropriate communication links with the university's Schools/Directorates and outside bodies as required.
- Create or join specific working groups from colleagues across the University to achieve relevant communications objectives
- Supervise specific project teams on an occasional basis to accomplish key objectives.
- Instruct and guide other employees across the university within the areas of digital content production and communications as required.
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications and Education
- Degree/NVQ6 or equivalent professional membership/experience
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Substantial experience of working within a communications role, with specialist and recent experience of producing digital communications content and assets (including broad knowledge of writing for online platforms, content management systems, and the user experience).
- Able to demonstrate professional knowledge of communications and digital content production, enabling them to give advice and guidance to internal and external customers
- Proven experience of writing in significant daily volume, engaging and accurate copy to short deadlines for use in digital, print and video communications for a range of audiences
Customer Service, Communication and Team Working
- Ability to communicate conceptually detailed, complex and technical information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people
- Evidence of ability to explore customers' needs and adapt to ensure a quality service is delivered
Planning, Analysis and Problem solving
- Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identify and propose both practical and innovative solutions
- Evidence of demonstrable knowledge of key advances within communications and digital content production
- Evidence of ability to work unsupervised to deadlines, planning and setting priorities for own work and monitoring progress.

- A willingness to undertake further training and development.
