Support the Severn Estuary Partnership within project delivery and development, carrying out supporting work, providing advice, guidance and support, and leading Severn Estuary Partnership projectsSupport the Severn Estuary Partnership
Key Duties
- Provide professional advice and guidance on project development and delivery processes and procedures to internal and external partners, using judgement and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action where appropriate, and ensuring complex and conceptual issues are understood
- Investigate and analyse specific issues within the Severn Estuary, creating recommendation reports, and supporting the SEP Manager with the development of project proposals.
- Ensure that Severn Estuary Partnership Projects are delivered, while proactively changing the delivery according to Partnership and funder requirements, where needed.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders in order to make recommendations for developments of established processes and procedures.
- Establish new and maintain current working relationships with key contacts, developing appropriate communication links with coastal stakeholders, as required
- Administer the Future Proofing the Severn Estuary Steering Group and collaborate with Stakeholders to create specific working groups from stakeholders across the Severn Estuary to deliver Severn Estuary Partnership objectives
- Supervise specific project teams, including line management of student placements to accomplish key objectives
- Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the Severn Estuary Partnership team, including delivery of the annual Severn Estuary Forum and other relevant communication activities
- Develop and support engagement and delivery activities for the Severn Estuary Partnership and relevant projects.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications and Education
- Degree/NVQ 4 or equivalent Professional membership/experience in environmental studies/environmental data management or similar
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of relevant coastal policies and strategies and an understanding of coastal management in England and Wales
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of delivering partnership led projects and ability to advise and guide internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to set up standard office systems and procedures and make improvements as appropriate.
Customer Service, Communication and Team Working
- Ability to communicate conceptually detailed and complex information effectively and professionally with a wide range of people
- Experience of partnership working, including the ability to advise and influence key stakeholders.
- Evidence of ability to explore customers' needs and adapt the service accordingly to ensure a quality service is delivered
Planning, Analysis and Problem solving
- Evidence of ability to solve expansive problems using initiative and creativity; identifying and proposing practical solutions and resolving problems with range of potential outcomes
- Evidence of ability to work unsupervised to deadlines, planning and setting priorities for own work and that of others and monitoring progress.
Other
- Supervise placement students to accomplish key objectives
Desirable Criteria
- Postgraduate/Professional qualification
- Familiarity with and knowledge of the Severn Estuary and Welsh Coastlines, including key environmental, social and economic features
- Experience of developing environmental data management systems
- Experience of working in a Higher Education environment
- Fluency in Welsh, written and oral
