Duckegg Theatre Acting School Limited are on the look out for an experienced Youth Theatre Mentor to join our team of freelancers. Regular mentoring hours would start from January 2026 with a brief boarding process taking place in mid December 2025. Weekly class hours available are below:

MONDAYS:

5:30-7pm - Musical Theatre Juniors (age 6-11)

7-9pm - Musical Theatre Seniors (age 11-14)

TUESDAYS:

4:30-5:30pm - Mini Eggs (age 4-6)

5:30-7pm - Acting Juniors (age 6-11)

We are open to having one candidate take on both days or a different candidate for each day, depending on the specialisms and availability of applicants.

We are looking for a reliable freelancer(s) who is able to be there for the groups on a weekly basis. We have a team of freelancers to arrange the odd cover if required but are looking for a mentor who is able to commit to the majority of weekly sessions, in order to foster the relationships required to support the pupils and create performance pieces.

A bit about Duckegg Theatre:

With small class sizes, we are a family of freelancers working ALONGSIDE young people to develop their skills and make amazing new theatre work, giving full ownership of work to it's creators. Our class bases stretch across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, our aim is to build a team of freelance Creative Mentors who support one another and have a passion for sharing creativity with the next generation. You will be supported in your role by our Company Director who looks after the day to day running of the school.

Positivity is a must, as is reliability - now more than ever, our kids need creative mentors who they build relationships with and rely on.

Weekly groups run through 42 weeks of the year. Breaking for 2 weeks at Christmas, 2 weeks at Easter and 6 weeks over Summer. Monday groups do NOT run on Bank Holiday Mondays.

Duckegg require all freelancers to have (or be willing to attain) the following in date documents/training: enhanced DBS check, public liability insurance (up to a minimum of 5m), first aid training, safeguarding training and chaperone license.
