TeacherActive are seeking a Youth Worker to join a fantastic SEN school in Salford, starting immediately.
This is a full-time role working with students who present a range of complex needs, including SEMH, ASD, communication difficulties and behavioural challenges.

The Role

Supporting young people on a 1:1 and small-group basis

Helping students regulate emotions, manage behaviour and engage positively in learning

Building strong, trusting relationships using a trauma-informed, person-centred approach

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team

Encouraging independence, social skills and confidence

Contributing to a safe, calm and consistent learning environment

What We’re Looking For

Experience as a Youth Worker, Support Worker, Mentor, Behaviour Support or similar

Confidence supporting young people with complex needs

Resilience, patience and a calm, compassionate approach

Ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour in a positive, nurturing way

A genuine passion for helping vulnerable young people thrive

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
