Temporary Technical Administrator
Location: Office-Based Manchester - Trafford Park - free parking / close to metro
Hours: 40 hours per week (6 month contract initially, may go to perm) Salary: £13.50 per hour.
Required: Immediately Reports to: Emily Dignam Senior Support Manager
Are you a master multitasker with an eye for detail and a drive for organisation? Do you thrive in a role where no two days are the same?
At AEC, we're looking for a temporary Technical Administrator to join our team. This role predominantly involves drawing plans, checking the technical content of reports and generating them on a purpose-built system; the critical part of this is prioritisation based on due dates, clients, size of the reports, and the surveyors so liaising with other departments is vital; meaning a methodical worker with proven experience of working to deadlines that has great organisational skills is desired. The role also incorporates dealing with internal and external queries as well as speaking to clients, so having good communication skills, both written and oral are required, making report amendments and uploading data and reports to various client portals and systems.
This role would suit a confident person with a can-do attitude as well as strong attention to detail and excellent IT skills. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
What You'll Be Doing
- Using Microsoft Visio to re-draw plans that are done on site so they are presented professionally within a report, this sometimes involves liaising with the site surveyors to ensure accuracy.
- Completing data and report checks to ensure the technical content displays correctly and does not contain errors.
- Deal with internal and external queries or report amendments.
- Run reports to monitor the progress of jobs and to help co-ordinate technical review and surveyor approval to report deadlines are met.
- Complete data exports for clients using a variety of systems.
- Liaising with clients to book in work and produce files for the site team.
- Upload reports and data to client portals and systems.
- Assist with putting management reports together.
- Assist colleagues where required in order to meet the report deadlines.
- Answer any incoming calls to the office.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Is hyper-organised with a keen eye for detail
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills
- Can handle multiple deadlines and tasks at once
- Enjoys a challenge and solves problems proactively
- Thrives in a fast-paced office environment
Why You'll Love Working With Us:
From day one, you'll have a tailored training plan designed to give you a deep understanding of how our business works and how to thrive in your role. You'll learn hands-on from experienced administrators in the office, and collaborate with teams across the business. We believe in giving you the full picture, so you're equipped with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to make a real impact. This is a role where you'll grow fast, build strong internal relationships, and gain valuable experience across all areas of operations — with plenty of support every step of the way.
