We're searching for a highly organised, detail-driven General Manager to lead our 23-bedroom boutique hotel and restaurant in Bristol. This is a hands-on, leadership role for someone who thrives on structure, precision and consistency - a natural organiser with strong operational skills and a calm, confident presence.

The Role

As General Manager, you'll take full ownership of the day-to-day running of the building, ensuring high standards across every area - from guest experience and team performance to financial control and presentation. You'll:

  • Lead by example with a firm but fair management style, setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability.
  • Uphold and enforce systems, processes and standards across all departments.
  • Ensure all areas of the business - front desk, housekeeping, bar, restaurant and events - are running efficiently and presented beautifully at all times.
  • Oversee rotas, budgets, cash handling and reporting with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Take responsibility for compliance, maintenance and health & safety.
  • Support, train and motivate the team to deliver consistently excellent service and standards.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines operational strength, leadership confidence and a structured mindset. You'll be:

  • Highly organised, analytical and calm under pressure - someone who takes pride in precision and order.
  • Firm, consistent and unafraid to address issues directly; respected for fairness and professionalism.
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent spelling and grammar.
  • Financially literate - comfortable working with budgets, rotas, forecasts and reports.
  • Detail-oriented, with an appreciation for presentation, style and aesthetics.
  • Computer literate and confident with systems and processes.
  • An experienced hospitality leader (boutique hotel or lifestyle property experience ideal).
  • A natural motivator - able to bring the team with you while maintaining clear boundaries.
  • No ego, just a strong sense of responsibility and pride in doing things properly.
