At Artist Residence, we're all about relaxed charm, warm hospitality, and soulful spaces - and we're looking for an Evening Host / House Manager to help bring that to life at our vibrant Bristol townhouse.

This is an evening-focused FOH role, perfect for someone with natural hosting flair, strong organisational skills, and a calm but confident presence. You'll take charge of the evening service - ensuring every guest feels truly looked after while keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

The Role

As Evening Host / House Manager, you'll be the key person overseeing the hotel and restaurant during evening service. You'll:

  • Take ownership of bookings and the diary, managing the flow of the restaurant with confidence and efficiency.
  • Meet, greet and host with warmth, professionalism and presence - setting the tone for great guest experiences.
  • Maintain the ambience of the space - music, lighting, atmosphere and guest flow.
  • Handle guest issues calmly and effectively, ensuring clear communication and quick solutions.
  • Oversee cash-up, end-of-day reporting and handovers, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
  • On quieter nights, jump in to serve tables or assist the team where needed.

About You

  • A natural host with confidence, polish and presence - someone guests remember for all the right reasons.
  • Organised and reliable, with a genuine sense of responsibility and care for your work.
  • Tech-savvy and efficient, able to manage bookings systems, emails and reports.
  • Great under pressure, with the judgement to make decisions and the empathy to do it gracefully.
  • A team player who understands the importance of leading by example.

The Details

  • Evening-focused role (typically 3/4pm–close)
  • Weekend availability essential
  • Part-time or full-time, minimum 25 hours per week
