Permanent, term time only working 30 hours per week over four days

Salary: Grade 5 (SCP6 to SCP9) £25,989 to £27,254 per annum pro rata

Actual salary: £18, £19,189.35 per annum

John Taylor Multi Academy Trust (JTMAT) believes in the power of education to improve lives – and the world. As a partner academy in JTMAT, we are seeking to appoint a hardworking, motivated and professional Refocus Room Manager to join our evolving organisation.

The successful candidate will have an integral role in the personal and social development of students and will be supported by the Senior Deputy Headteacher, Heads of Year and Key Stage 3/4 Pastoral Managers. Our core values of Pride, Respect, Kindness are fully embedded across the school. The Refocus Room Manager will use their skills to reaffirm our strong belief that clear expectations combined with supportive guidance prepares our young people for life beyond school.

Blythe Bridge High School & Sixth Form has a strong moral purpose and ethos and believe that young people should have the opportunity to learn from any mistakes they make yet understand the importance of following instructions in a respectful manner. The successful candidate will have a track record of working successfully with challenging students. They will have responsibility for our remodelled refocus room and the administration of our Culture & Ethos.

  • monitor and update our behaviour tracking system
  • assist students in difficulty and de-escalate situations
  • create a calm and ordered working environment
  • be flexible and work well under pressure
  • be efficient with time
  • organise and update rewards and sanctions administration
