Are you passionate about delivering high-quality tenancy services and supporting vulnerable residents? We are seeking a proactive and dedicated
Tenancy Officer
to join our team, playing a vital role in providing an effective and efficient Temporary Accommodation (TA) tenancy management service.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for overseeing tenancy management and support functions, ensuring a smooth and responsive service across key Housing Needs areas. Your work will directly contribute to sustaining tenancies, promoting housing stability, and improving outcomes for individuals and families in need.
Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.
About You
We are looking for a confident and customer-focused
Tenancy Officer
to join our dedicated housing team. In this vital role, you will act as a key point of contact for tenants, colleagues, and partner agencies, using your excellent written and verbal communication skills to represent the service effectively at both internal and external meetings. You'll play a central role in building and maintaining strong, positive working relationships.
You will bring technical knowledge and a solution-focused approach to routine tenancy issues, providing advice and professional support within your remit. With strong organizational skills, you will be comfortable working independently, prioritising your workload, and meeting tight deadlines and performance targets.
An in-depth understanding of housing legislation, regulations, and current housing practice is essential, as is a solid grasp of tenancy management, welfare reform, benefits, debt management, and tenancy sustainment. A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion—particularly in housing—is also key to success in this role.
Ideally, you will hold a relevant housing qualification, such as membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing, or demonstrate equivalent experience and be willing to work towards qualification. The role requires flexibility, including the ability to attend meetings and respond to emergencies outside normal office hours and on weekends. A full driving licence, access to a vehicle insured for business use, and the ability to travel across Luton and surrounding areas are essential.
This is a public facing role so you'll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English
If you're ready to make a real difference in people's lives and build a rewarding career in housing, we'd love to hear from you
