JACOB's Civil Engineering Solutions is specialising in all civil and construction work associated with M&E delivery for clients working on various framework, especially waste water & renewable energy. We are fast developing contractor working across South West region, specialising in excavation works, RC structures, pipe laying and soft landscaping. Our vision is to be "best performing civil company constructing a new sustainable future".

At JACOB's we are mainly working in 2/3-man teams covering Devon, Cornwall and parts of Somerset. Commitment and personal involvement of our MD makes us standing out from competition.

Job description

The role

As a Civil Operative you will be required to undertake variety of civil work but main duties will consist of:

  • Excavation work – both machine assisted and hand excavation techniques and working safely in and around buried services
  • Working in deep excavations and installing temporary works & ground support
  • Pipe and duct laying – installation of various types and pipe sizes
  • Constructing manhole chambers using various techniques
  • General groundwork and reinstatement works - undertaking various hard and soft landscaping (i.e. kerbing, slabbing, concreting)

We would like to hear from candidates who hold the following qualifications, however consideration will be given to applicants who do not hold these qualifications as we can provide required training.

· CSCS or EUSR Water Hygiene/ SHEA

· Streetworks Operative

· 360 Excavator

· Cat and Genny

· Forward Tipping Dumper

· Confined Space

Due to varied site locations and activities, successful candidates must have a full UK driving licence.

Full set of work uniforms and necessary PPE will be provided.
