THE ROLE
Develop and lead the Accessibility team to deliver high quality outputs in line with client expectations and commercial goals. Provide thought leadership internally and externally; understanding and promoting new ways of working, speaking at conferences, publishing and pushing the boundaries of what we do, all in support of GAIN Experience's position as market and thought leader in the Accessibility space.

Responsibilities
Team & People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the Accessibility team to deliver market-leading expertise and maintain GAIN's position as a leader in the field
  • Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and commercial excellence—balancing creativity with performance and results
  • Support individual growth through appraisals, training, and development plans, ensuring continuous learning and high performance
  • Recruit and develop talent aligned with business needs, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment
  • Manage performance effectively, addressing skill gaps and ensuring clear expectations, feedback, and development opportunities

Project & Delivery Leadership

  • Oversee delivery of complex, high-profile accessibility projects—ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance across multiple accounts, mentoring practitioners to deliver exceptional client outcomes
  • Evolve and optimise GAIN's accessibility services and methodologies in response to client needs and market trends

Client Management & Growth

  • Act as the senior point of contact for accessibility, building strong client relationships and driving long-term account growth
  • Partner with Account Management and Sales to shape proposals, guide methodologies, and identify new business opportunities
  • Represent GAIN Experience with authority and professionalism in client interactions and strategic discussions

Practice Development & Innovation

  • Lead the continual improvement of internal processes, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and quality across all deliverables
  • Monitor market developments, emerging standards, and technologies—adapting practices to keep GAIN at the forefront of accessibility and experience design
  • Champion thought leadership through presentations, events, and written content, elevating GAIN's external profile and influence

Strategic Leadership

  • Contribute to company-wide planning and business development initiatives, providing insights into accessibility trends and client opportunities
  • Shape the strategic direction of accessibility within GAIN, aligning team objectives with broader business goals
  • Role model GAIN's values and leadership behaviours, fostering collaboration across disciplines and teams

Requirements

  • Proven senior leadership experience developing and executing accessibility strategy in a commercial or digital environment
  • Strong track record in building, managing, and motivating high-performing teams
  • Expert knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices (including WCAG)
  • Commercially astute, with excellent judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Confident communicator and collaborator—able to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and clients
  • Strategic thinker with the agility to balance long-term vision and hands-on delivery
