Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and home care settings. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure the well-being of those in their care. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives through personalised care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals with mobility and daily activities, promoting independence where possible
- Follow personalised care plans to meet each individual's specific needs
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a warm and trusting environment
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in the client's condition
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
- Assist with medication management as directed by healthcare professionals
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding if required
- Ensure a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transportation when necessary
- Good organisational skills to follow care plans accurately
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and documentation
- Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver exceptional care
