Our Central Division plays a vital role in ensuring that our operational and administrative functions are delivered efficiently, enabling us to maintain the highest standards of care across our organisation.
Priory is looking to recruit a Head of Commercial Finance (Healthcare)to join the team. This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week.
Location: Remote, with national coverage. Travel will be required nationally to regional offices and sites with prior notice and occasional overnight stays.
The successful candidate will need to hold a Full Driving Licence and have access to their own car.
As part of our onboarding checks, the candidate will be subject to 'Fit and Proper Person's compliance checks.
What you'll be doingResponsible to the Commercial Finance Director UK to support the financial management across the Division working with the Senior Management Team, Managing Directors and their teams with the objective of improving the commercial and financial performance of each service.
As a member of the Operating Board, participate in a senior capacity for forward planning, including business planning, financial forecasting and strategic decision-making.
- Provide financial and commercial advice to operational management, driving financial performance through commercially sound decision-making and analysis.
- Leadership of the divisional commercial finance team, giving clear direction, including effective communication to ensure high levels of engagement.
- Agreement of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Lead the coordination and fieldwork involved in annual budget setting and reforecasting as and when required by group.
- Ensure the companies reporting timetables are met, working closely with divisional finance team and central management accounts team to ensure that reporting is accurate, timely and accessible.
- Preparation and presentation of monthly financial data at Operating Board.

What you'll bring to the roleThe ideal candidate:
- The role holder will ideally be professionally qualified as an accountant through one of the recognised accountancy bodies (ACCA, CIMA, and ICAEW). Additionally the role-holder will possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Generally working to medium and long-term objectives, reporting to the Commercial Finance Director UK, the role has a significant degree of autonomy and authority, as responsible for the financial management across a number of Priory services.
- Proven leadership experience in commercial finance with a background in Health and Social Care related sectors.
- Strong understanding of funding models, commissioning and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Experience of leading a team of Finance Business Partners and multi-site business of scale.
- Proven track record in influencing decision making within a business and improving financial performance.
