**Finance Assistant at Lexxic**

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance function, including assisting in managing accounts payable and receivable, with a particular emphasis on receivables, such as processing invoices and liaising with clients to ensure prompt payment, whilst also supporting with any customer queries.

You will also be involved in preparing and maintaining essential financial documents such as invoices, bills, and bank statements, as well as reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information. Additionally, you will also assist in the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and budgets, contributing to the overall financial planning and analysis activities.

**What you will be doing**

**Accounts Receivable Management (40%)**
- Collaborate with the Senior Credit Controller and Client Services Team to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices to reduce bad debt.
- Liaise with clients to ensure prompt payment and resolve any payment-related queries.
- Maintain accurate records of receivables and update Xero accordingly.

**Financial Document Preparation and Maintenance (20%)**
- Prepare and maintain essential financial documents, including invoices, bills, and bank statements.
- Ensure all financial documents are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company policies.
- File and organise financial records for easy retrieval and reference.

**Reconciliation and Analysis (20%)**
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues identified during the reconciliation process.
- Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

**Financial Reporting and Planning Support (10%)**
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Provide data and analysis to support the financial planning and analysis activities of the finance team.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.

**General Finance Support and Compliance (10%)**
- Support the finance team with various ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in maintaining internal controls and implementing process improvements where necessary.

**Skills, Knowledge, and Experience**
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Proficient in using accounting software, preferably Xero.
- Ability to collect, analyse, and interpret financial data accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills to reconcile financial discrepancies.
- High level of accuracy in preparing and maintaining financial documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to support and assist team members with various financial tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills for handling customer queries and ensuring prompt payment..
- Previous experience in a finance assistant or similar role.
- Experience working with a Senior Credit Controller and Operations Teams (Desirable).
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification (Desirable).
