Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Swan & Goose.
We are looking for someone with a positive and hands on approach with strong leadership qualities, extensive kitchen experience and a passion for delivering exceptional food. We make everything in house and fresh to order
This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee food preparation, manage kitchen operations, and support the Head Chef in maintaining high standards of quality and safety within a vibrant hospitality environment.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of a diverse range of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Manage daily kitchen operations, including organising work schedules and delegating tasks efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene across all areas of the kitchen.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and controlling waste to optimise resources.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting innovative dishes and seasonal specials.
- Assist in maintaining a positive working environment that promotes professional growth and teamwork.
Skills
- Proven supervisory experience within a busy culinary setting.
- Extensive food production knowledge with expertise in food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
- Experience working in restaurants or hospitality environments with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £27,000.00-£36,855.70 per year
