What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Lead Pre Operative Assessment Nurse to join our Day Case team, with a competitive salary range on offer up to £66,950 depending upon experience.

This is a Monday-Friday, 9-5 role with Overtime included.

The 21-bed Day Case Unit supports the care of patients requiring outpatient intravenous infusions, same day operations and diagnostic procedures. The unit admits and discharges day case Neuro/Spine, Vascular, Orthopaedics, Upper/Lower GI, Urology, Head & Neck, ENT, Gynaecology, Plastics and Interventional Radiology patients.

What will your duties include?

  • Manage the Pre-operative assessment department when on duty with overall continuing clinical responsibility, in order to carry out safe delivery of care to all patients.

  • Deputise for the Nurse Manager as appropriate.

  • Actively participate in clinical audits within the overall Perioperative setting.

  • Provide specialist clinical advice and support to all Caregivers and encourage best practice. 

  • Adheres to CCL policies relating to Safeguarding, Fire, Risk Management and Health and Safety at work Act. 

What we need from you? 

  • Current nursing registration (First Level) through the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) required, with no restrictions to practice

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

  • Pre Operative Assessment experience at Charge Nurse/Lead level required.

  • Advanced level of assessment skills.

  • Experience of leading and managing change.
