Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and organised Dental Receptionist to join our family owned dental practice. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for managing appointments, handling administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional environment where attention to detail and communication skills are highly valued. Prior office or administrative experience is preferred, but full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
  • Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using practice management software
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient enquiries, and direct calls appropriately
  • Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures with accuracy
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
  • Process payments and organise billing in accordance with practice policies
  • Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary materials
  • Assist with administrative duties such as filing, correspondence, and data entry
  • Support the dental team with various clerical tasks to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

  • Previous office or administrative experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Friendly, professional demeanour with a customer-focused approach
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-presented with a positive attitude towards teamwork and patient care

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 17 per week
