Job Description

As a Senior Business Systems Developer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality Business Systems Solutions in a fast-paced environment.

The Business Systems Solutions department is focused on delivering systems and solutions to the Business. The team utilises various technologies to provide custom-built solutions and implement third-party products and services. We support processes in driving effectiveness, efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.

You will collaborate with Technical Leads and Software Architects to deliver robust software solutions. Your focus will be on coding, ensuring quality, and fostering continuous improvement, ensuring our systems are reliable, scalable and well-integrated.

Whilst working closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to planning, release management, and technical direction, while maintaining a strong understanding of our technology stack and Business requirements.

You will champion best practices, mentor Junior Developers and take ownership of technical deliverables.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company's hybrid working from home policy.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in software development and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), building API back-ends and UI front end services.
  • Strong technical and architectural understanding of complex systems.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable code while applying problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience mentoring or guiding Junior Software Developers.
  • Effective communicator in both technical and non-technical contexts.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with release management and quality control processes.
  • Experience with integration of systems and cross-team collaboration.
  • Passion for technology, delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with .Net, React, JavaScript, Python, MS-SQL or Postgres and Cloud based microservices.

  • Participating actively in team ceremonies and release processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement in development practices.
  • Communicating technical requirements clearly within and across teams.
  • Contributing to planning, documentation and process governance.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in development and production environments.
