Power Semiconductor Product Engineering Manager | UK

A global semiconductor manufacturer is seeking an experienced Product Engineering Manager to lead the development and release of next-generation power semiconductor devices, including advanced wide-bandgap technologies. This role offers full technical ownership of product engineering, from characterization and yield improvement to process control and production release.

What you'll be working on

  • Leading the product engineering team and collaborating with technology and product development teams to deliver manufacturing-ready devices.
  • Characterizing new product performance ahead of production release.
  • Developing and maintaining engineering databases for device characterization and production tracking.
  • Establishing and monitoring Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems for production products.
  • Managing wafer sort and final test disposition processes.
  • Driving yield enhancement and supporting failure analysis activities.
  • Supporting new product introduction (NPI) and transfer from development to volume production.
  • Managing change control for products in production.
  • Working with reliability and quality teams to analyse RMA customer returns and implement corrective actions.

What they're looking for

  • PhD or Master's degree in Semiconductor Device or Material Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in power semiconductor engineering, ideally across both silicon and wide-bandgap (SiC/GaN) devices.
  • In-depth understanding of the semiconductor product lifecycle, including device characterization, qualification, production release, and sustenance.
  • Strong analytical skills in evaluating and characterizing power semiconductor devices.
  • Experience with SiC or other wide-bandgap semiconductor devices is highly desirable.
  • Background in yield analysis, circuit debug, and Six Sigma quality practices is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach problems logically and develop creative, data-driven solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, with proven success in leading cross-functional and international project teams.
