Head of Communications

Aureos is seeking a Head of Communications to work from either of our offices in Crewe, Nottingham or London.
The Head of Communications provides strategic leadership for all internal and external communication activities. This role ensures alignment with organisational objectives, oversees the communications team, and acts as the primary point of contact for M&A-related communications.
The position focuses on developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships while driving consistent, high-quality messaging across all channels.
Primary tasks and duties
- Lead the development and execution of the organisation's communications strategy.
- Oversee all internal and external communication initiatives to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Act as the lead for M&A activity communications, including planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage and mentor the communications team, ensuring effective coordination and delivery.
- Represent the communications function in senior leadership discussions and decision-making.
- Support CEO and other C-Suite in any communications requirements
Secondary tasks and duties
- Monitor industry trends and adjust communication strategies accordingly.
- Support crisis communication planning and execution.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated messaging across projects.
Qualifications and Training
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven experience in a senior communications leadership role.
- Strong understanding of corporate communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic thinking and ability to influence at senior levels.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Desirable:
- Professional accreditation in communications or public relations.
- Experience in managing communications during mergers and acquisitions.
- Adobe Suite knowledge
