Mental Health Support Assistant – Waltham Forest, London – September 2025 Start

Key Responsibilities of a Mental Health Support Assistant:
  • Support SEND children in both group sessions and 1:1 interventions.
  • Adapt teaching styles to suit the individual needs of students.
  • Collaborate with the SENDCo and Class Teachers in lesson planning and delivery.
  • Encourage a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Essential Criteria for a Mental Health Support Assistant:
  • A 2:1 degree from a top 20 UK University is required.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and supporting SEND students.
  • Previous experience working with SEMH children in a child-centred role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
