Role: Mental Health Practitioner - Children and Young People
Reports to: Team Manager
Location: Remote - Must be UK based
Full-time 35 hours per week
Start date: 10/11/25
- This position is fully remote and our working hours are between 12.00pm to 10pm and Saturday working 5.00pm to 10.00pm*

Role Objective
Offer digital online emotional wellbeing and mental health support and interventions to children and young people
Split of the role
- Offering digital emotional wellbeing and mental health support and interventions to CYP - 40%
- Assessment and formulation through an online digital platform - 20%
- Clinical administration - 20%
- Attending clinical supervision and training - 10%
- Attending management supervision and meetings -10%
Main Responsibilities
Offering digital emotional wellbeing and mental health support and interventions to CYP
- Providing text-based online support and advice to children and young people in line with iThrive clinical model
- Assessing and management of the risks and needs of each service user you interact with.
- Appropriately signposting and completion of referrals as required
- Undertaking comprehensive assessment and formulation of wants and needs of CYP
- Providing short and mid-term support and interventions with physical, emotional and mental health issues and distress.
- Providing caseload support and interventions to those with complex mental health difficulties and/or risk support.
- Performing all duties in line with relevant compliance, legal requirements and internal policies with particular reference to children, young people and adult safeguarding and protection, and data protection legislation.
Assessment and formulation through an online digital platform
- Maintain accurate case notes and records using Kooth approved systems and processes.
- Liaise with other professionals/services either internally or externally around safeguarding issues and concerns.
- Performing all duties in line with relevant compliance, legal requirements and internal policies with particular reference to children, young people and adult safeguarding and protection, and data protection legislation.
- Maintain accurate information about shift duties and activity via the scheduling and rota system.
Attending clinical supervision and training
- Attend and effectively contribute to clinical supervision and other clinical support
- Commit to our mandatory in-house training and continuing professional development opportunities.
Attending management supervision and meetings
- Attend and effectively contribute to team meetings and other key organisational meetings.
- Attend and effectively contribute to management supervision to review clinical work and overall performance against agreed work schedules (KPIs)
Requirements
Essential
- Degree in a relevant subject such as social care, mental health nursing, counselling, social work, psychology or equivalent professional qualification; or qualified by experience in previous work work roles with significant demonstrable professional training in Mental Health support and engaging people around emotional well-being or mental health difficulties
- Working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding adult and child protection policies and legislation.

- Ongoing specialist training in Mental Health
- Suicide Prevention and Self-Harm Mitigation Training
- Safeguarding and risk management interventions training
- Training In Adult Safeguarding & Child Protection
Working Hours
- We offer contracts 35 hours (full-time).
- The service runs from 12pm to 10pm (Mon - Fri) and 6pm - 10pm (Sat - Sun), therefore all rota options will sit within our opening times and will include weekend working (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5-10pm)
- Shifts consist of 6 hour and 8 hour shifts.
