Job Overview

Win's Bakers is a newly established bakery in the rapidly growing scenes of Leyton. We specialise in elevating classic bakes such as pasties, pies , sausage rolls and sweet goods. We aren't a bakery that makes bread or pastries, so we aren't looking for a 'classic baker'. We make a lot of fillings using a variety of techniques. We are therefore looking for a chef with experience to maintain excellent standards within the kitchen.

We are a working bakery and sell out of the unit whilst we are preparing the baked items to be sold. This provides a real buzz to the atmosphere, thus the role is also customer facing - everyone does their bit in this respect.

We are looking for someone who wants to grow and improve with the business. We are constantly looking at making improvements to our products, facilities, processes, standards, operations and work environment. We are looking for someone who not just contributes to these improvements in their day to day work, but also shows a level of ownership towards these tasks and is enthusiastic about doing so.

It goes without saying, an interest in food is an absolute must for this role. We never settle until we believe our recipes are the best they can be - you can't achieve this without passion.

We have been in operation for 6 months, but we are constantly on the receiving end of growth interests. We are mindful about what we take on, but we always want to be in the position to grow. In order to do this our standards must be excellent. We expect you to have worked in a kitchen(s) where you have been taught to work efficiently and cleanly in your work area. We expect that you will have had experience with preparing for EHO visits and therefore know the checklists involved in daily hygiene of the workplace.

The exact job role is dependent on experience. However, regardless of the level of experience you have, we expect that you will give 100% of your focus and effort to the business whilst in working hours. A hardworking, can do attitude is essential - as is a growth mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Kitchen experience essential
  • Understanding of baking techniques and principles desired but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and improve required
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Compensation:£ £16.00 p/h dependent on experience

Working Hours:

4 or 5 days a week. 1 weekend day mandatory.
