Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety while supporting Head Chef in daily kitchen operations.

Duties

  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and adherence to culinary standards.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to guarantee consistency and quality.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
  • Train junior kitchen staff, fostering their culinary skills and knowledge.
  • Manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Handle any kitchen-related issues that may arise during service.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • A passion for cooking and creativity in menu design is highly desirable.
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are an advantage.
