We are now seeking an experienced, creative, and highly motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at our family run Bar & Restaurant in Llanrhystud. The chef is required to prepare and cook our homecooked meals as well as perform inventory and supply ordering duties.

As Head Chef, you'll lead the way in making sure all food is prepared safely, cooked perfectly and presented accordingly..

The candidate must make sure the kitchen area and equipment are clean, safe and sanitised. The chef will also be responsible in leading the kitchen team. In some cases, the chef will works directly with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative seasonal menus
  • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
  • Manage kitchen budgets and achieve cost-efficiency targets
  • Providing ongoing support and training to kitchen team
  • Ensuring food safety compliance - must be experienced in HACCP and completing all kitchen paperwork
  • Clean and ensure the sanitary conditions and operating order of kitchen appliances, equipment, food storage areas and the kitchen itself
  • Must have Level 3 Food & Hygiene
  • Work closely with The Barn Manager to ensure smooth running of premises

To succeed in this role you will need;

  • To have proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
  • Be customer orientated and service minded
  • Demonstrate excellent standards of personal hygiene
  • Have a genuine passion and knowledge of quality food from fresh ingredients
  • Display a proven ability to hit targets

Please note that this is a premises on a seasonal holiday park (open March-December). The kitchen hours do vary depending on peak times, therefore the candidate must be willing to work flexibly. Approximately 40 hours a week.
