A hands-on leadership role driving excellence across Accounts Payable and supplier management.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and detail-driven Accounts Payable Lead to join a fast-paced, market-leading creative business. Reporting to the Finance Director, this newly created role offers the chance to take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function while contributing to procurement and supplier management activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-volume environment and wants to play a key part in shaping processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring financial integrity across a growing business.

Based in the offices 4 days a week in SW London and 1 from home.

Key duties:

  • Lead and oversee the Accounts Payable function, including line management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and best practice.
  • Develop and implement AP policies, controls, and processes to optimise efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Manage all supplier payments, including domestic and foreign currency transactions.
  • Oversee purchase order, invoice, and expense reimbursement procedures, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital, optimising payment schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with international VAT and identify reclaim opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment queries and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Drive automation and system enhancements to improve efficiency, ideally using Procim and Xero.
  • Reconcile company expense cards and support month-end close activities.
  • Own and manage the supplier onboarding process from start to finish.
  • Conduct supplier due diligence to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulations.
  • Manage supplier relationships and contract negotiations, liaising with legal advisors as required.
  • Support procurement initiatives and contribute to the development of supplier policies.
  • Identify and mitigate compliance and financial risks within AP and procurement operations.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations.
  • Lead audit preparation and respond to related queries.
  • Keep up to date with regulatory changes and best practice in AP and payment security.

Key skills:

  • Proven experience in a senior Accounts Payable role, ideally within a creative, events, or fast-paced industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading an AP team and managing high-volume, multi-currency environments.
  • Professional qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) desirable.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax laws, and procurement compliance.
  • Proficiency with financial systems – Procim and Xero experience advantageous.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to drive process improvement, implement automation, and enhance efficiency.
