Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Supervising Social Worker based in Herne Bay. The Supervising Social Worker will oversee and support foster carers, ensuring they provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. Responsibilities include conducting home visits, preparing reports, managing assessments, providing training and development to carers, and coordinating with local authorities and external partners to ensure the best outcomes for children. The role engages both administrative and interpersonal tasks and requires sensitivity, professionalism, and strong advocacy for children in care.
Qualifications
- Strong social work skills, including case management, assessment, and experience in fostering or child protection
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills with children, foster carers, and professionals
- Organizational skills, accuracy in report writing, and ability to meet deadlines
- Familiarity with relevant fostering legislation, standards, and safeguarding practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with local authorities and external agencies
- DiPSW, Postgraduate or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and registration with the relevant regulatory body (Social Work England)
- Proven experience in fostering or working with children and families is highly desirable
- A valid driver's license and access to a car are essential due to travel requirements
