What will you be doing?
A Student Records Officer you will be responsible for day-to-day delivery of student record processes. An expert in core student records processes, such as registration, student status changes, module registration and responsible for maintaining records and ensuring data quality aligns with regulatory guidelines, Provide advice and guidance to staff at all levels on student record processes and the maintenance of student record data.
Who are we looking for?
To be successful in the role, you will be a proactive and detail-oriented individual with experience in managing student records and academic administration, preferably within the Further or Higher Education sector. You will have a sound understanding of the student lifecycle, including processes such as registration, module enrolment, student status changes, and maintaining records to ensure data quality, and will be confident working within regulatory and statutory frameworks.
Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves providing expert advice and guidance to support University staff at all levels, as well as contributing to cross-departmental collaboration. You will be proficient in using student records systems such as SITS, along with digital tools like Excel and SharePoint, to maintain data accuracy and support institution-wide activities.
A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to adapt to changing priorities are key. The role requires excellent organisational and analytical skills, with experience in using reporting tools to support data quality and decision-making. A customer-focused approach and the ability to support both colleagues and students are vital to delivering an excellent service.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Professional Services) which means Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.
It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
