Role: Head of People and Operations
Contract: Permanent, full-time role
Salary range: approx £67k - £72k per annum, dependent on experience, plus benefits
Location: London
Disabled access / useful office info:

Ever wondered who makes sure the magic happens behind those premium documentaries you binge in one sitting? This could be you.

We're working with one of the UK's most respected production companies - the ones behind some of the biggest narrative-driven series on global platforms. Think authentic storytelling, incredible access, and content that genuinely moves people. They work across factual, documentary, and entertainment formats, with teams in London, LA, and Paris, and they're brilliant at what they do.

Now they need someone equally brilliant to look after their people and keep the operational wheels turning.

The Role

This is a proper generalist HR role with operations attached - you'll be the central person for everything people-related, plus you'll oversee the day-to-day running of the London office and coordinate with LA.

On the people side, you'll:
  • Own the employee lifecycle - from supporting recruitment to onboarding, learning & development to reporting
  • Develop HR policies that actually work in a creative, fast-moving environment
  • Champion wellbeing, inclusion, and culture across the company
  • Manage employee relations and support line managers
  • Keep the ATS running smoothly and use data to inform decisions
  • Work on contracts (both perm and freelance) and coordinate recruitment
On the operations side, you'll:
  • Oversee office, facilities, and IT systems in a hybrid working model
  • Manage relationships with IT providers and ensure compliance (H&S, GDPR, etc.)
  • Line-manage two EAs who also handle facilities
  • Work with the SVP and Finance Team on operational planning
  • Coordinate operational activities including insurances, building management, and sustainability
The Reality Check

This isn't a role where you can be purely strategic - you need to be in the weeds and in the busy office environment (3+ days a week in London).

If you're someone who thrives on variety, loves being across everything, and genuinely enjoys making a creative workplace run smoothly, this could be perfect.

You'll Need
  • Senior HR experience in TV, media, or entertainment
  • Good general knowledge of employment law and compliance
  • CIPD qualification is highly desirable - gives you the confidence and credibility to make calls from day one - but not a dealbreaker as training possible
  • Confidence with HR systems and tech (BambooHR experience a bonus)
  • The ability to be proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills and sound judgment
  • A genuine passion for wellbeing, inclusion, and creating great culture
  • To be London-based and happy being in the office most of the time
Why It Matters

You'll be at the heart of how this company works. You'll shape the culture, support the teams, and help one of the UK's most exciting production companies continue to grow and create world-class content.

There's loads of good work already done, and plenty more to build on - especially around diversity, policy development, and continuing to evolve the people function.

If you're an experienced HR professional who understands the pace and pressure of television, loves getting stuck in, and wants to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
