Job Overview

We are seeking an Administrator & Weighbridge Operator who will be responsible for managing the site's weighbridge operations, ensuring accurate recording of all incoming and outgoing loads, and providing effective administrative support to the site or operations team. The successful candidate will also be required to understand our FRED system and be able to manage the transfer and consolidation of contracts and invoices from current process to a new one. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational and communication skills, with a focus on delivering reliable system administration and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Weighbridge Operations

  • Operate the weighbridge system to record all incoming and outgoing waste movements.
  • Check and verify customer details, vehicle registrations, waste types, and EWC codes.
  • Produce accurate tickets, consignment notes, and transfer documentation.
  • Ensure all weighbridge data is logged, stored, and reported correctly.
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers, directing them safely on and off site.
  • Identify and report non-compliant loads or discrepancies.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and filing systems for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Input data into internal systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly reporting (waste volumes, stock levels, site checks, etc.).
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and general customer enquiries.
  • Assist in arranging collections, deliveries, and maintenance bookings.
  • Prepare documentation for inspections, audits, and regulatory checks.

Compliance & Health and Safety

  • Follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE.
  • Ensure weighbridge operations comply with environmental and waste legislation.
  • Report hazards, incidents, or near misses to the Site Manager.
  • Support permit compliance by ensuring accurate waste classification and documentation.

General Duties

  • Provide administrative support to supervisors and the site team as required.
  • Assist with training, inductions, and communication notices.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised weighbridge office.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills when dealing with drivers, customers, and staff.
  • Ability to use weighbridge software, databases, and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of waste classification, documentation, and compliance (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience (required).
  • Experience in waste management or weighbridge operation (advantageous but not essential).
  • IT-literate with good data-entry skills.
  • Training in waste documentation (desirable).

Job Type: Temp to perm

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
