Job Overview

In this role, you'll manage wastewater non-infrastructure projects with budgets of up to £2 million, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to high standards of quality and safety. You will focus on projects that enhance wastewater services through innovative, non-infrastructure solutions such as process improvements, digital systems, and operational enhancements.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to lead a diverse portfolio of smaller scale yet impactful projects from initiation through to successful completion, helping to reduce reliance on external consultants and improving operational efficiency across wastewater services.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Lead and manage wastewater non-infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery, focusing on improvements such as digital upgrades, process optimisation, and service delivery enhancements.

  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution.

  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to maintain clear communication and collaboration.

  • Monitor budgets and ensure projects meet financial targets and KPIs.

  • Balance quality, cost, and timeline constraints to deliver sustainable outcomes.

About You
  • Proven experience delivering capital and non-infrastructure projects, preferably within wastewater or utilities sectors.

  • Strong knowledge of project lifecycle management and familiarity with NEC contracts or similar frameworks.

  • Financially savvy, with the ability to manage project budgets effectively.

  • Skilled in risk management, stakeholder engagement, and navigating complex project requirements.

  • Results-oriented with excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and business case development skills.

  • Resilient, adaptable, and capable of leading teams under pressure with strong leadership qualities.

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Package
  • Benefits include:

    • Company and performance-related bonus

    • Generous pension scheme (up to 11% company contribution)

    • 25 days annual leave

    • Life assurance (4x salary)

    • Salary sacrifice electric car scheme (after 6 months)

    • Health Cash Plan and fully funded eye tests

    • Two paid volunteering days annually

    • Occupational health services

    • Retail discounts

    • Digital GP service

    • Study support for job-related qualifications

    • Competitive maternity leave and flexible return to work options

    • Cycle to work scheme
