Position

We are looking for an IT and AI Apprentice Technician to join our team in Harrogate. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a keen interest in technology, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. You will support the delivery of reliable and secure IT services across the charity while completing the Microsoft Azure Cloud Support Specialist Level 3 Apprenticeship .

You will gain practical experience in IT support, cloud systems and AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, learning new technologies and helping others. Your work will help ensure our staff have the digital tools they need to support people with sight loss and other disabilities.
  • Salary: £12.21 per hour
  • Hours per week: 38
  • Weeks per year: 52
  • Annual leave: 5 weeks plus 10 days bank holiday
  • Contract: Fixed Term (18 Months Apprenticeship duration)
  • Location: Harrogate

Requirements

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, curious and ready to learn. You should be self-motivated, able to work as part of a small team and have good communication skills.

Essential:
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at grade 4 or above
  • Eligible and willing to enrol on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Support Specialist Level 3 Apprenticeship
  • Interest in IT, cloud computing or emerging technologies
  • Ability to problem-solve technical issues and support users
  • Awareness of data protection and cybersecurity principles
  • Flexible working attitude and ability to carry out physical aspects of the role
  • Enhanced DBS check with adult and child barring required
Desirable:
  • Experience providing IT support (formal or informal)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure or similar cloud environments
  • Interest in AI tools and automation (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate)
  • Full driving licence and access to transport for site visits
