Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. As a Commis, you will play a crucial role in food preparation and cooking, ensuring that every dish meets our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Assist in the training of new kitchen staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operation during service hours.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste.

Skills

  • Proficient in food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
  • Previous kitchen or culinary experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy restaurant environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in meal preparation and serving is an advantage.
