Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our culinary team. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, through assisting senior chefs in food preparation and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop culinary skills while maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards.

Duties

  • Checking & maintaining the cleanliness, organisation and standards within the kitchen
  • Assisting the brigade for a smooth, safe and efficient running of the kitchen operation
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes as directed by senior chefs.
  • Support the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff in daily operations.
  • Ensure ingredients are properly stored, labelled, and rotated to maintain freshness.
  • To engage with the wider Estate team in the delivery of events
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high food quality standards.
  • Learn and develop new culinary techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • To ensure compliance with all standard operating procedures

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety practices and food preparation techniques.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards leadership and team management.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.

Pay: £26,000.00-£28,571.00 per year
