Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to help lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for all events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, coupled with excellent leadership and team management skills. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

We're an independent events caterer based in York (YO329LE) with a BBQ focus and contemporary relaxed food. We work mostly weddings with a few private parties thrown in. With lots of live fire and bbq influence on our menus, but no compromise on quality, everything fresh, from scratch in house.

Working hours are 45hrs per week, you will have Sundays & Modays off together plus one weekend off every 6 weeks. There will be a mix of 4 or 5 day weeks, with prep days finishings at 4pm, event days are later. A clean full driving lience (maximum of 3 pionts) is needed.

Duties

  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operation.
  • Oversee food production processes, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Train kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
