Salary: dependent on experience and skills (£32,000–£34,000) + Benefits & Overtime

Hours: Full-time, permanent (40 hours per week) – no split shifts

Location: Ampleforth, North Yorkshire – 5 days over 7 (on-site)

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead a dedicated kitchen team within a values-led organisation that provides meals for residents, visitors, and staff across several outlets, including a tearoom, event catering, and internal dining services.

Set in a peaceful and picturesque rural location, the site welcomes a wide variety of guests throughout the year and prides itself on offering high-quality, freshly prepared food with a focus on care, tradition, and community.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of quality food across the tearoom and event catering functions, including menu development
  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef on food for special events and community dining
  • Ensure production, preparation, and presentation of food meet the highest standards
  • Liaise with operations and finance teams on stock control and ordering
  • Uphold all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
  • Build strong collaboration with Front of House teams to ensure an outstanding guest experience
  • Continue to develop your culinary skills and support the organisation's growth
  • Demonstrate leadership, creativity, and a genuine passion for hospitality
Experience Required
  • Proven experience working at Head Chef level
  • A track record of maintaining and improving health and safety procedures
