The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the formulation and achievement of company agreed sales objectives and for their team's productivity. Reporting to the UK & Ireland Head of Sales, this role is responsible for hiring, managing, coaching, developing and directing a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) and Practice Solutions Managers (PSMs) to achieve revenue and sales targets which will impact on company results. The Regional Sales Manager is tasked with building a high performing team whilst creating a supportive environment that champions personal and team development. The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for collecting and analyzing business insights for their Sales region and proposing strategies to the Marketing & Key Accounts team to achieve company sales targets.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • We're seeking a Sales Manager whose greatest strength lies in empowering others through impactful coaching. You will dedicate a minimum of three days per week in the field with your sales team providing hands-on guidance, fostering growth, and cultivating a high-performance culture. Your leadership will be instrumental in building a motivated, results-driven team that consistently exceeds expectations.

  • Champion customer success by engaging key accounts alongside Business Development Managers, uncovering needs, validating satisfaction, and delivering tailored solutions.

  • Build powerful, multi-level relationships across all channels, creating long-term value for customers and strengthening our market presence.

  • Lead with integrity and purpose, setting the standard for ethical conduct and compliance across your team. You'll be a role model for professionalism and accountability.

  • Influence across the ecosystem, making a meaningful impact on internal teams, external stakeholders, and the customers we serve every day.

  • Be a culture carrier for Alcon, fostering innovation, collaboration, and a performance-driven mindset that inspires those around you and elevates our brand at the local level.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Success in this role will be measured through clearly defined Key Performance Indicators that align with both individual and organizational excellence. These include:

  • Alignment with strategic business goals, ensuring contributions directly support overarching company objectives

  • Productivity and efficiency metrics, with a focus on delivering strong return on investment

  • Achievement of personal performance goals, as outlined in the Performance Management process and tailored to individual development

Financial Accountability

You will be entrusted with financial responsibilities that are critical to regional success, including:

  • Ownership of regional sales targets, driving growth and market share

  • Management of regional marketing resources, ensuring impactful and cost-effective campaign execution

  • Oversight of operational budgets, maintaining fiscal discipline while enabling high performance
