Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our team. The position is to work one or two Saturdays per month to assist either the dentist or the hygienist.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing excellent patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. This position requires strong communication and organisational skills, as well as a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and patient comfort.

Duties

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatments, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared in advance.
  • Provide exceptional patient care by ensuring patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient experience and streamline clinic operations.
  • Utilise IT systems for record management and appointment scheduling effectively.

Qualifications

  • Holds a relevant nursing qualification or certification in dental nursing or is working towards one.
  • Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and understanding.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with patients and team members.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
