We are looking for a passionate Credit Controller to join our fast-paced accounts department. Supporting the UK and Ireland companies with keeping the debtor's level low and achieving the monthly receipt collection targets. You will be responsible for proactively and effectively communicating and chasing overdue debts, helping to resolve any customer queries regarding payment of invoices, in a timely manner and in line with our ways of working. As a Credit Controller you will perform the monthly chase letter routine, monitor the shared mailboxes and respond to customer queries over the telephone and by email. The ability to develop excellent relationships with customers and colleagues is a must to ensure our customers receive the best service.

The Role – Credit Controller

  • Effectively and proactively chase customers to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices by telephone, letter and email
  • Administering the chase letter process, responding and following up with clear actions for review by the Credit Control Team Leader
  • Performing month end reporting duties for the credit control team and identify receipts in advance from customers at the month end date
  • Keeping the ERP system up to date with clear and concise notes regarding debt chasing and customer queries
  • Ensure cash collection targets given by the Credit Control Team Leader are met
  • Ensure shared mailboxes are kept up to date and customers are responded to within the timeframe outlined by the business

What You Will Need in the Role of Credit Controller

  • You will have a minimum of one years' experience working in a related finance role, with knowledge of credit control processes and debt collection.
  • Knowledge of the customer order to cash process from start to finish across the business and how the finance team and other departments impacts this.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and modules.
  • Understanding of the month end process for the finance team.
  • Knowledge of good customer service and the part the team plays in delivering customer satisfaction.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, ability to develop great relationships with others
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritise workload, is organised and efficient
  • Have an eye for detail and is numerate and accurate
