Overview
We are recruiting a Senior Market Security Specialist on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to join our team in Ipswich

The successful candidate will provide operational and analytical support to the dynamic Market Security Team. The role will be pivotal in supporting and developing key team business initiatives across Gallagher Re.

Market Security is focused on establishing confidence that the reinsurers Gallagher Re trade with represent robust and appropriate financial security for our clients. The team undertakes a combination of risk assessment, due diligence, ongoing monitoring and suitable risk mitigation strategies to support this.

Core Market Security activities include:

  • Managing data quality within our technology platform which houses a broad range of financial and non-financial data on reinsurance counterparties.
  • Employing minimum credit rating thresholds and conducting independent counterparty analysis.
  • Providing data and information to colleagues to support clients in understanding and monitoring their reinsurance counterparties.
  • Monitoring, understanding, and interpreting the actions taken by the global credit rating agencies.
  • Administering the use of non-approved markets in accordance with internal policy and procedures.

Within this role you will support key business initiatives dedicated to operational efficiencies, high quality analysis and data reliability. Suitable training will be provided where appropriate.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to accomplishing the team's strategic objectives, ensuring and, where applicable, identifying and advancing operational efficiency.
  • Providing counterparty credit analytical expertise to support the global business.
  • Act as a key support in implementing the team's key risk controls surrounding non-approved markets.
  • Join the analytical team as a valued member, responding promptly and professionally to important client needs.
  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with various collaborators, including senior management at Gallagher and important contacts within the industry.

About You

  • A strong analytical and numerical mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent English skills, with track record of successful verbal and written communication.
  • Previous experience in analysing financial documents and crafting well-written reports.
  • An understanding of key accounting concepts and a proven foundation in the fundamentals of financial statements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency and passion for developing and sustaining relationships with a wide array of individuals.
  • Developed Excel skills.
  • Professional qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Eligible to work in the UK
