Marketing Executive

THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced and driven Marketing Executive to join our Marketing Team. If you love all things social media, enjoy creating exciting written and visual content, and are passionate about both B2C and B2B marketing, this is the role for you.
The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting social plans and creating engaging written, video and photo content for multiple brands across Linkedin, Meta, and TikTok. You will be responsible for all outward-facing communications of Bluestem Group and its brands across a range of B2B and B2C channels including print, emails, PR, blog posts, and trade press.
As a key member of the team, you will work closely with all departments to gain a strong understanding of business activities and objectives; as well as keeping up to date with industry news, social and environmental initiatives and trends, which will support you in creating all internal & external communications.
You will be forward-thinking and proactive, with a desire to contribute to the overall marketing strategy at Bluestem Group. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of our marketing efforts and be responsible for the success of a portfolio of brands.
Please note: this is a full-time role based in our head office in Ipswich.
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
The key duties for the post are as follows:
Product Copywriting
- Work with the product team to understand each product's features and benefits in order to create consumer-focused product copy that sells, without reliance on AI tools.
- Ensure content is optimized for use on multiple channels such as our eCommerce websites, Amazon listings, packaging, and catalogues.
Blog Writing
- Create a minimum of 1-2 original blog posts per month for each Bluestem Group website to add value and drive traffic.
- Conduct SEO and keyword research to ensure content is optimised for search engines.
PR and Business Content
- Create written content about Bluestem Group for use in B2B trade press publications. This will include press releases, trade awards entries, and industry trend analysis.
- Maintain communication with trade press contacts.
- Work with the Senior Marketing Coordinator to create a trade press content plan and budget based on seasonal products, new product launches, and business news.
- Collaborate with other team members within the business to gather news stories and content for inclusion in our monthly internal newsletter.
Email Marketing
- Use Brevo to create emails to advertise our monthly promotions, relevant business news, and new product launches.
- Continually monitor stats including open rates and clicks and adjust copy/images accordingly to improve these.
- Ensure our email mailing list is maintained and aligns with current GDPR guidelines.
Social Media
- Create an engaging content plan for multiple brands across Linkedin, TikTok and Meta, in line with business objectives and NPD plan.
- Use software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut or Canva to produce captivating static and video content to increase brand awareness and engagement for our brands.
- Write high-quality caption copy that stops the scroll and encourages engagement on each post.
- Manage campaign scheduling using Hootsuite, posting regularly on the best days/times to optimise engagement.
- Manage community engagement and conduct regular community outreach to grow our brands' influence across social media.
- Keep up to date with the latest social platforms, features, algorithms and trends, as well as researching competitors to identify areas of improvement/experimentation.
- Plan and manage paid social posts across Linkedin, Meta and TikTok, including boosted posts and ads. Suggest ad spend budgets and undertake A/B testing whilst monitoring stats to generate the best ROAS possible.
- Provide monthly reports to Senior Marketing Coordinator, using key metrics to identify areas of success and offer practical ideas for improvement.
Trade Exhibitions
- Complete admin tasks such as health and safety documents and forms, uploading product images/copy
- Gathering promotional material and price lists for inclusion in show binders.
- Assist in organizing products/furniture/POS ready for transportation to show venue.
- You will be required to assist with set-up and breakdown of each show, which will include lifting heavy appliances and moving furniture (with assistance from other team members). This will require travel outside of your standard contracted working hours.
Fundraising
- Assist with identifying relevant local causes and charities to work with.
- Assist with planning and promoting fundraising events.
- Assisting with organising on the day to ensure events run smoothly.
Other Duties
- Audit websites to ensure product imagery and copy is always up to date - this will include Bluestem Group websites as well as 3rd party websites.
- Collate and send product images and copy to customers or other team members as requested.
- Update business presentation templates as required.
- Arrange printing and posting of relevant launch packs, promotional materials, offers, and price lists to Area Sales Managers.
- Attend and assist with external product photography shoots, including capturing 'behind the scenes' content for use on social media and in newsletters. This may require travel outside of your standard contracted working hours.
- Assist with proofreading publications including brand catalogues and our twice-yearly product brochure.
- Other ad-hoc marketing duties as required.
ABOUT YOU:
This role is best suited to someone with a dynamic, positive personality who is curious and always looking to learn. You will be completely engrossed in social media and be interested in keeping up with the latest trends and platforms.
With a keen eye for stats, you will be motivated by results and always strive to achieve better. As well as being outgoing with the ability to build strong professional relationships, you will have a hands-on approach to every task.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of social media platforms and trends with proven ability to create engaging content for multiple social media channels.
- Ability to use software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to create regular video and image content for use on social media.
- Knowledge and experience in paid social media strategies on Linkedin, Meta and TikTok.
- Experience using social media scheduler tools, such as Hootsuite.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with keyword research and SEO best practices.
- Experience using email marketing tools, such as Brevo.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Strategic thinking, being excited about identifying new areas of marketing for us to explore.
- Experience in B2B marketing, particularly within the consumer goods/small appliances sector.
- Experience in trade or press exhibitions/events.
