Brent, Greater London, United Kingdom Ribbons & Reeves Full time £24,000 - £25,600 per year

Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant | Primary School in Brent

We are working with a friendly, well run primary school in Brent that is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join them for the full academic year.

This role suits a graduate who wants proper, hands-on experience in education and is confident supporting children who need a little extra help to access learning.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Helping children stay focused, calm and engaged in lessons
  • Working alongside the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans and interventions
  • Supporting learning, communication and social development through the school day
  • Being a steady, positive presence for pupils who rely on routine and encouragement

Who this is for
You must have a UK university degree and be able to commit for the whole academic year. The school is looking for someone who is:

  • Patient, reliable and calm under pressure
  • Interested in long term work within education
  • Happy to take advice, learn quickly and get stuck in
  • Confidence around children with SEN is a bonus, whether that is from school based experience, tutoring, youth work or voluntary roles

Pay and hours

  • £12.22 per hour
  • 6.5 hours per day
  • Full time, term time only

Progression
There is genuine long-term potential here. Strong candidates may be offered a permanent contract, and outstanding SEN Teaching Assistants could be supported into teacher training from September 2026.
