This role involves teaching small, well-supported classes across Early Years to Year 2, working with pupils who present speech, language and communication needs, including autistic learners. You will be part of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team, collaborating daily with skilled Teaching Assistants and on-site therapists to deliver a personalised curriculum that strengthens communication, confidence and academic progress.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary from £36,500 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications, with Inner London weighting where applicable.
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Small classes, typically 6 to 9 pupils, with excellent adult support.
  • Ongoing in-class support from experienced SEN TAs.
  • Daily collaboration with Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other specialist professionals.
  • Strong CPD offer, including autism-specific and communication-focused training.
  • Wellbeing and staff benefits package, plus on-site refreshments.
  • Excellent transport links and local parking options in Brent.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Primary lessons matched to individual learning profiles.
  • Assess, track and report progress, contributing to annual reviews and EHCP outcomes.
  • Write, review and adapt Individual Education Plans and personalised targets.
  • Work in partnership with TAs, therapists and families to ensure consistent, joined-up support.
  • Use calm, clear behaviour strategies that help every child access learning successfully.
  • Create a structured, inclusive classroom environment where communication and independence grow daily.

About you

  • QTS (or equivalent) and at least two years Primary teaching experience.
  • Confident teaching across EYFS and/or KS1.
  • Strong SEN experience, particularly autism and speech, language and communication needs.
  • Warm, adaptable and creative, with excellent classroom practice and high expectations.
  • A genuine team player who values collaboration with families and wider professionals.
