Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (Brent)

Start Date: October 2025 | Full-Time

Are you a graduate looking to start your career in education? Brent primary schools are seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support children with special educational needs.

In this role, you will work with pupils aged 4–11, supporting learning, behaviour and wellbeing in both mainstream and specialist school settings. You'll help children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language difficulties, giving them the encouragement and guidance they need to succeed.

Key points:

  • Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Provide emotional and academic support across core subjects
  • Promote positive routines and behaviour in the classroom
  • Gain hands-on experience in SEN education

Requirements:

  • A 2:1 degree (minimum) from a UK university
  • Experience working with children (paid or voluntary) desirable
  • Patient, empathetic and resilient character
  • DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
