Part-Time HR Administrator

Cardiff, Cardiff, United Kingdom Nexilis HR Solutions Full time

Full-time equivalent salary: £24,400 per year

Part-time equivalent (15 hours per week): approximately £9,760 per year

Contract: 6-month fixed term

Location: Remote (Cardiff-based) with occasional travel to client sites

Looking for a role that's a bit different from the usual HR admin job?

We're an independent HR consultancy based in Cardiff, supporting small and medium-sized businesses and charities with HR advice, investigations, mediation and recruitment.

As we grow, we're looking for a part-time HR Administrator to join us on a six-month fixed-term contract. You'll support multiple client organisations, helping us deliver professional, accurate and timely HR administration, recruitment coordination and case management.

This role is remote, but you'll need to be Cardiff-based for occasional in-person meetings or travel to client sites in South Wales (travel expenses paid).

Why this role is different

This isn't a typical in-house HR admin role focused on one employer. You'll be working across multiple clients and sectors, including charities, SMEs, and growing businesses , which keeps the work varied, interesting and full of learning opportunities.

You'll gain exposure to a wide range of HR activity, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and investigations, and see first-hand how different organisations approach their people management challenges. It's a great opportunity to broaden your experience, develop strong practical HR skills, and work closely with an experienced HR consultant who values initiative and precision.

If you like variety, thrive on organisation and want to see how HR operates across different workplaces, this is a genuinely rewarding and distinctive role.

What you'll do

  • Act as the first point of contact for routine HR enquiries from clients.
  • Provide administrative support for employee relations and investigation cases, including document preparation, formatting and file management.
  • Handle recruitment admin — drafting adverts, scheduling interviews and managing candidate communications.
  • Maintain accurate HR databases and client records.
  • Prepare and issue standard HR letters, contracts and reports.
  • Support onboarding for new client employees.
  • Contribute to wider consultancy projects and process improvements.

What we're looking for

  • Strong administrative skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Professional, confident communicator who can handle sensitive information.
  • Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working remotely.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, HR or recruitment systems).
  • Previous HR admin experience is desirable, but strong general admin experience with an interest in HR will also be considered.
  • Must be based in or near Cardiff, with the ability to travel occasionally to client sites (expenses paid).

What we offer

  • Six-month fixed-term contract
  • Salary: £24,400 FTE / approx. £9,760 pro-rated for 15 hours per week.
  • Flexible remote working (3 hours per day, Monday to Friday).
  • Paid travel expenses for client meetings and site visits.
  • Varied work across multiple clients and sectors — no two weeks are the same.
  • Supportive, professional and collaborative working environment in a growing consultancy.
