Hybrid Working. London based: 1-2 days/week in Head Office and occasional travel external meetings.

Holiday:

30 days + bank and statutory holidays (pro-rated if part time)

Salary:

£37,500 per annum

You will be part of the Voluntary Fundraising Team helping with to deliver an ambitious new voluntary strategy for that will help us:

  • Diversify our income generation model
  • Increase growth of voluntary income by 15% through restricted and unrestricted funding streams

Fundraising Manager postholder is central to us realising this ambition with a focus on increasing income from a variety of income sources including Trusts & Foundations, Fundraising Appeals, Individual Giving and Legacy.

You will be an excellent relationship builder and communicator, equally comfortable talking about the work of St Giles to senior stakeholders as well as writing grant applications to Trusts & Foundations for five and six figure donations.

(1) Key Deliverables
  • Leading on applications and relationship management of Trusts and Foundations, working with Trusts and Foundations Officer and Head of Voluntary Fundraising to raise £2m from Trusts and Foundations each year.
  • Managing campaigns and events to raise £200,000 across Appeals, Individual Giving, and Legacy per year.
  • Managing Fundraising Assistant to support them with administration tasks for the team including tracking income and stewardship of donors.
  • Manage and refine processes for recordkeeping ensuring that we are utilising our Fundraising database ETapestry to its maximum potential, in line with GDPR requirements.
  • Manage a multitude of fundraising systems through which we receive funds e.g. Enthuse, Paypal Giving, Payroll Giving and continuously strive to streamline and get the most out of all systems.
  • Working closely with the Finance team to set and review annual budgets.

Trusts & Foundations

  • Developing & design excellent, high-quality applications, presentations, and pitches to secure 5,6 and 7 figure funding opportunities from Trusts & Foundations.
  • Providing excellent stewardship to existing donors including writing reports, arranging, planning and hosting visits for key stakeholders and ambassadors that inspire them to continue to support St Giles.
  • Co-ordinating and managing input from internal and external stakeholders to submit high quality funding applications.
  • Developing service delivery models & budgets collaboratively with frontline teams.
  • Improving how St Giles generate unrestricted income across streams through proactive, innovative, strategic ideas.
  • Representing St Giles at a range of community and fundraising events.

Individual Giving & Legacy

  • Managing the development and implementation of our Individual Giving and Legacy Strategy providing regular data analysis & reporting on our progress.
  • Growing our Individual Giving and Legacy income stream through single and regular giving appeals.
  • Working with Communications team to devise and launch two fundraising appeals per year on local and national scales.
  • Identifying and liaise with Ambassadors and Patrons who can increase our reach and promote IG & Legacy campaigns.
  • Ensuring that confidentiality and security of information is maintained in accordance with our Confidentiality, Data Protection, IT and Security policies. Promoting sustainable working practices and reducing the environmental impact of St Giles work.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Two years' experience working in a charity fundraising environment.
  • Proven track record of winning and/or managing 5 figure grants.
  • Database management experience.
  • Experience devising, planning and implementing fundraising appeals.
  • A good understanding of fundraising best practice and regulations, including Fundraising Regulator guidelines, GDPR and data protection.
  • Knowledge of anti-discriminatory working practices, and the implications of both within the working environment.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and communication skills with a good ability to write compelling and informative copy for reports, applications and external communications that are tailored to audience need.
  • Hardworking, self-motivated, pro-active individual with demonstrable evidence of working well under own initiative and pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative ideas to help us stand out to our existing and new donors.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills including organising and delivering key events and engagement activities for potential & existing supporters to a high standard.
  • Advanced IT skills – Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint (essential) Canva.
